Thank you for helping us raise $9,740.18 on Giving Day 2018!
Information about Giving Day 2019 will be updated in early 2019.
Giving Day is an event dedicated to increasing giving to Cornell during a 24-hour period. This is a great opportunity for alumni, students, and others to give back to Cornell, and the organizations which defined their time on the Hill, including the Chorus!
Gifts to the Chorus designated on Giving Day will go toward the Chorus Endowment as we strive towards our $1 million endowment goal.
The Chorus is one of Cornell’s proudest and most historic student organizations. This ensemble unites singers from every college in the University, a true embodiment of Ezra Cornell's vision for "an institution where any person can find instruction in any study."
The Cornell University Chorus is a student run, treble voice choral ensemble founded in 1920 that advances women and gender minorities in the arts by creating a strong community that promotes musical diversity, leadership, and excellence. Alongside the Glee Club, the Chorus is proud to continue Cornell's long-standing tradition of college songs. In addition to their Cornellian pride, the groups have gained reputations as two of the finest choirs in the world.
Since 2001, the Chorus has made a special point of commissioning new works from women composers with the goal of expanding the contemporary repertoire for treble voices. One of the most public faces of the University, the Chorus performs annually during Convocation, First-Year Parents’ Weekend, Vespers, Senior Week, Commencement, and Reunion Weekend. In 2017, the Chorus hosted its first ever Collegiate Treble Choir Conference, and in January of 2018 the Chorus embarked on a two-week long tour to the Gulf Coast. In March, the Chorus traveled to Pittsburgh to perform in the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Division Conference.
