General Manager's Address

A Thank You to Alumnae, Family, and Friends of the Chorus

As I approach my fourth and final year with the Cornell University Chorus, I find myself reflecting on all of the incredible experiences I have had with the group thus far. I had the privilege of touring China my freshman year, performing the momentous Bernstein’s Mass my sophomore year, and mastering the challenging Tag des Jahrs by Kaija Saariaho this year. Chorus women have become some of my closest friends and a bastion of support at Cornell.

As I begin to step into my new role as General Manager, I realize now more than ever that none of this would have been possible without the incredible support we receive from you. It is such an honor and a privilege to have such devoted alumnae and generous family and friends.

Our endowment push continues to be a success. In the past year, our endowment has grown substantially, entirely as a result of generous donations to the Chorus. Every year brings us closer to our goal of amassing an endowment that can cover all our yearly expenses.

In the meantime, we are so indebted to you for your donations and support. This year, an unprecedented $24,000 has been donated to the Chorus in the form of gifts. Additionally, your support allowed us to raise $2400 combined from our Twilight Concert and Senior Week raffles. Most importantly, you come to our concerts and allow us to share our music with you.

The Chorus offers each of its members a challenging and rewarding musical experience, but more than that, it is a family, a close-knit group of friends that shares the common bond of love for and appreciation of music. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you!
