Leading Ladies

June 3rd, 2016

On May 6th, the Chorus invited Jeannette Peréz Rosselló, the Chair of the President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW), to speak at its second annual Leading Ladies event. Dr. Peréz Rosselló is a Pediatric Radiologist at the Boston Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Jeannette provided incredible insight and advice from her life, education, and career for the Chorus and other audience members. I personally learned a lot from her insights about her experience being a woman in a male-dominated field. Jeannette not only offered us her story, but presented relevant research about women in medicine and in the workforce in general. Her combination of hard facts and relatable anecdotes made Leading Ladies another huge success!

Leading Ladies is surely becoming a large part of the Chorus’ efforts to promote female leadership and empowerment. Furthermore, Leading Ladies has allowed us to reach outside the Chorus and impact women and men throughout the Cornell community. We are excited to continue this tradition and highlight more successful and empowered role models in the years to come. If you know any leading ladies that you feel would make for good speakers in the future, please reach out to our president, Marissa Grill (president@chorus.cornell.edu), with your suggestions.

Sincerely,
