Vice President's Address

Hello Chorus family, friends, and alumnae,

This past semester was a wonderful time for the Chorus and I would like to thank all of our alumnae and friends for their incredible support. On September 19th we had our fourth annual Homecoming tailgate, which was a great success. Before the football game, current students had a chance to mingle with alums, sing some Cornell songs, and enjoy the Homecoming festivities!

This semester we are working hard with our Social Media Chair, Megan Larkin, and our webmasters, Stef Wu and Samantha Reig, to increase our presence on social media and our website.  We launched a successful video campaign for the month leading up to Twilight (October 31st) to generate excitement around this annual concert. The Facebook campaign was able to keep our alumnae well informed about ongoing events and to help them feel more connected to current members.

Additionally, I am working on a database with alumnae career information and contact information, which I will make available to current members. I hope this will foster connections between current members and alums, and Chorus women a chance to ask our incredibly successful alums about their career paths!

Finally, I am working to restructure the Young Alumni Mentorship Program (YAMP) to include alumnae leadership of the program so it will continue successfully beyond officer turnover. Our first step with this program will be to connect current members with alumnae during our Mesoamerica Tour in January, so they can exchange postcards while on tour to keep our alums up to date and involved!

Please feel free to reach out to me at vp@chorus.cornell.edu if you have any questions, comments, or concerns! I wish you all a happy fall, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
