After Eight Update

This year has certainly been an exciting one for After Eight! After a successful 25th anniversary last year, the group hit the ground running in the fall, welcoming in four new members: Sydney Hertafeld ’18, Natasa Kostic ’18, Brianna Cox ’20, and Eri Kato ’20. In addition to the typical Statler gigs and Witching Hour concert, the group also made an effort to perform throughout the Ithaca community at various events. In addition, Meghan Burns ’13 began work on creating After Eight’s very own Advisory Board. The A8AB will not only help to oversee general planning for the group, but also assist in song selections for Reunions Weekend.

After Eight certainly has a busy semester coming up. The group recently accepted two new members, Autumn Watt ’19 and Lucy Park ’20, and cannot wait to begin singing with them! After Eight’s Spring concert, Evening Affair, will be held on April 28th at 8:01 PM in Sage Chapel, but in addition to their own concert, the group will be performing all over campus this semester. They will be taking the stage during the Friday night concert of the upcoming Treble Conference, and later in the month will be performing at Bonnamu, a new musical fundraiser on campus supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In addition, the group will begin work on their next album, and will have one of the songs from their most recent album, 8:25, featured on the Women’s A Cappella Association’s new compilation album, WACA Vol. 4. The group is so excited to dive into so many musical opportunities, and cannot wait to see all that is in store for 2017!

With A8 love,
