Message for Chorus Alumnae

Hello Chorus Alumnae,

I am very excited to announce, on behalf of the Chorus, the many exciting endeavors we have in store for this Spring Semester!

The first new beginning for the Chorus is the LinkedIn Group created by your fellow alumna, Rose Hanson '15. This group will provide another opportunity for Chorus women and alumnae to engage, but on a more professional level. If you are on LinkedIn, I highly encourage you to join the group and to post about any engaging topics you come across.

A second exciting ongoing is our first ever Treble Conference. The Chorus will be hosting various female collegiate singing groups from March 3rd-5th, with a special guest speaker and a few concerts in the mix. For those of you in the area or with free time that weekend, we really hope to see you on campus for our exciting activities.

This spring break, the Chorus looks forward to our Atlantic Coast Tour. We have a plethora of concerts, workshops, and activities planned along the east coast from Pennsylvania to Georgia, and plenty of room for alumnae engagement. Look out for an email regarding our tour stops, and opportunities to support the Chorus along our travels.

Upon our return to the hill, the Chorus looks forward to working with Steve Spinelli to prepare for a collaborative performance of Lili Boulanger’s Psalm 130, Du fond de l’abîme, with the Glee Club, the Cornell Symphony Orchestra, and Miri Yampolsky. We hope to see you at Bailey Hall for the performance on Saturday, May 6.

Later in the spring is our Commencement Concert and of course, Reunions! We are very excited to sing with members from the past and share respective Chorus memories. Reunions RSVPs will be going out in late April, so stay tuned!

Amidst all these ongoings, I would like to reiterate that all of your support means so much to me and all of my fellow Chorus members. We are so excited to share our sound and look forward to this semester’s events. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reach out to me at vp@chorus.cornell.edu.

Thank you all so much and I hope to see you all at our concerts, tour, or end of year events!

Best,
Adja Toure '18
